Sarah Hébert-Tremblay is a lawyer and trademark agent. Her practice focuses primarily on litigation involving various types of intellectual property rights.
Sarah also advises clients on the protection of their intellectual property assets and related contractual aspects, including litigation, drafting of commercial agreements related to intellectual property, trademark availability and registration, administrative proceedings before the Registrar of Trademarks, portfolio management and commercialization of intellectual property rights.
She also assists clients with consumer and marketing law, including the application of the Competition Act, the Consumer Protection Act and the Charter of the French Language. During her studies, Sarah worked at the Office de la protection du consommateur, giving her unique insight into the Consumer Protection Act and its administrative interpretation.
Sarah graduated from the University of Ottawa with the highest distinction (Summa cum laude). As part of her studies, Sarah studied American law in Los Angeles, in particular Copyright, Movies Production Law and Fashion Law. She also holds a certificate in negotiation and drafting of technology agreements from York University – Osgoode Hall Law School and is currently completing a Master of Laws at the London School of Economics.
Highly involved in her community, Sarah has served on boards of directors for arts and cultural organizations. She is also an active member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s Emerging Leaders Committee, and the Trademark Agent Examination Advisory Group.
