Iván Rodríguez Durán specializes in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and the drafting of opinions on validity, infringement, freedom to manufacture and patentability in fields related to chemistry, surface engineering, (bio)materials and general mechanics.

He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2007 and a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2013. He also holds a Ph.D. in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from Université Laval, completed in 2019. His graduate studies focused on the use of an atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge (AP-DBD) for the manufacture of anti-fog coatings and the surface modification of polylactic acid for biomedical applications, including cardiovascular stents and sutures.
