Danièle Éthier specializes in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and in providing validity, infringement, freedom to operate and patentability opinions, particularly in the field of life sciences including pharmaceuticals and biochemistry.
She is a registered patent agent in Canada since 1999 and in the United States since 2000. She is a member of the Ordre des chimistes du Québec.

Danièle Éthier has more than 18 years of experience in the field of intellectual property. Prior to joining ROBIC, she held the position of Director, Intellectual Property in a successful antiviral research company in Canada where she was responsible for managing an important patent portfolio.
Danièle Éthier also held a similar position, in the global intellectual property group of a pharmaceutical company, where she was responsible for managing an important patent portfolio in a variety of core areas including antiviral and vaccine technologies.
As part of her responsibilities, she was also involved in European and Australian opposition procedures and in US patent interferences. She began her career in the Patent Department of a Canadian research and development company in 1992.
Danièle Éthier’s strong expertise in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry allows her to advise her clients on how to best protect their valuable assets taking in consideration their business perspective.
