Paralegal, Patent Department

ROBIC is seeking a team-oriented paralegal for our Montreal office. Reporting to the Patent Paralegal Supervisor, the successful candidate will be part of a group currently composed of six paralegals.

  • Prepare forms necessary for the prosecution of a patent application.
  • File patent applications with various authorities.
  • Communicate with the Canadian patent office or any other relevant foreign authority to obtain information related to a patent application or patent.
  • Communicate with clients and international correspondents.
  • Verify the status of files and prepare summary reports.
  • Follow-up on files and manage deadlines.
  • Perform legal research (both with traditional instruments and computer databases) and draft memoranda.
  • Perform all other related patent tasks.


  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in patents (asset).
  • Experience as a paralegal (asset).

We are looking for candidates who are willing to learn and are resourceful. Training specific to the intellectual property field is provided by the firm. We do not require candidates to have specialized knowledge, but it stays an asset.
