We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful individual to join our dynamic accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in processing accounts payable and performing various analyses related to the firm’s accounting. He/she will also be responsible for proposing recommendations to ensure continuous improvement of accounts payable.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the recording of cash receipts and supplier invoices;
  • Ensure the timely issue of cheques and preparation of wire transfers to ensure payment of suppliers according to applicable terms;
  • Investigate invoice recording discrepancies in collaboration with stakeholders;
  • Recommend and implement process improvement projects at accounts payable level;
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and related procedures;
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental objectives;
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliation reports;
  • Prepare and analyze various reports (if desired);
  • Provide a highly professional customer service to internal customers.
  • Fill in sporadically for vacancies or absences in the accounting team related to accounts payable and bank deposits;
  • Perform any other related accounting tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a college diploma (DEC) in accounting;
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar position;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite and excellent knowledge of Excel;
  • Bilingualism (an asset);
  • Proficiency in Simply Accounting (an asset).
