Dario Pietrantonio appointed as Managing Director of ROBIC

April 29, 2024 – IPH Limited has today announced that Dario Pietrantonio has been appointed as the Managing Director of ROBIC, a leading intellectual property law firm based in Canada’s Quebec province and member firm of the IPH Group.

Dario is a registered lawyer and trademark agent who joined the ROBIC team in 1994 and was made partner in 2002. A longstanding member of the firm’s executive committee and an accomplished professional services leader, he has co-led both its trademarks and business law practice groups.

“We are thrilled to announce Dario’s appointment as Managing Director,” said Dr Andrew Blattman, Managing Director and CEO of IPH which acquired the IP agency practice of ROBIC in November last year.

“Dario brings significant expertise across intellectual property practice and has a strong understanding of ROBIC’s culture and business operations.”

Speaking about his appointment, Dario said, “I am excited to support the ROBIC team in this capacity. ROBIC is a leading intellectual property business with a strong reputation and extensive history, and I am honoured to take on this role.”

“I believe in the strength and expertise of our people, and the high-quality service we provide to our clients, and look forward to leading the business to further growth.”

ROBIC was founded in Montreal in 1892, and is one of the most prolific filers of trademarks in Canada, with a reputation for excellence in Canadian intellectual property law.

IPH acquired ROBIC in 2023, establishing Canada as the largest region for the Group. The Group expanded into Canada in 2022, and now employs over 500 people across its Canadian firms.

“As we continue to expand our global reach and embrace our presence in Canada, it is important that we establish strong leadership in the regions in which we operate,” said Dr Blattman.

“Dario is an experienced leader in the intellectual property space with deep knowledge of the business and a proven track record of excellent client service, and we are excited to welcome him to this role.”
