ROBIC APPLAUDS THE GENEROSITY AND INGENUITY OF ITS CLIENTS. HERE IS THE INSPIRING STORY OF GENACOL!
When the generosity of a family business benefits many people in need and the concrete benefits are felt in homes across Québec, one can only salute this contribution. This is exactly what Genacol has decided to do in this period of health crisis by donating $15,000 to Moisson Laurentides.
Frédérick Michaud, President of Genacol International, says that this was an unequivocal decision for him, his two brothers and their partner considering that, for them, the importance of giving back to society is essential during these difficul times.
In the current context, as the company has been able to continue its activities, it has allowed many residents of Montréal’s North Shore to satisfy their hunger, which is quite commendable. With this gesture, Genacol wanted to demonstrate the importance to give family support.
Mr. Michaud explains that prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company was in good financial health, which allowed it to make this donation of $15,000 to Moisson Laurentides, a non-profit organization that Genacol has favored for the past few years. In the past, Frédérick Michaud was a member of the board of directors of this organization.
The reaction of Moisson Laurentides’ managers was very positive considering that this sum allowed them to purchase products that donors do not usually ofer, such as meat, fruits, vegetables and other fresh products.
Founded in October 2000 by Mr. Guy Michaud, Genacol is now managed by his three sons and their partner. The family business has about 20 employees in Québec and distributes its collagen-based products in some 40 countries around the world.
Genacol was born as a result of knee problems that seriously handicapped its founder. The latter then became interested in the benefits of collagen on the joints and decided to start his company at the age of 40.
Twenty years later, his sons and their partner took over and now ensures its international development.
Many companies are trying to go international, but it takes patience to succeed. No two countries are the same. Having a good partner helps you succeed on an international scale. Where the relationship is strong, the best deals are made. Many distributors are interested in our product and contact us in order to ofer to sell the product in their country. ” says Frédérick Michaud, who is responsible for international development.
The COVID-19 experience
As for Genacol’s situation in this period of health crisis, Mr. Michaud indicates that their biggest challenge was to adapt themselves to the situation and its relational challenges. He states that transportation aspect of the business has become more complex and that certain distributors’ cash flow became critical.
” We started teleworking even before the government requested it. We have a business model that adapts well to telework and so the current situation has not significatly impacted us, ” he says. Fortunately, sound financial management has allowed Genacol to maintain all of its employees and their workload remained the same. At the same time, the employees’ concerns have dissipated.
For the future, the company wishes to pursue its growth, maintain the health of its troops and consolidate its international business relations.
ROBIC WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE GENACOL’S GENEROSITY IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES, A DONATION THAT COULD ENCOURAGE OTHER COMPANIES TO DO THE SAME!
CONGRATULATIONS TO GENACOL!
