Two New Professionnals Join the ROBIC team

Yuheng Tom Zhang specializes in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and providing patentability, validity, infringement and freedom to operate opinions in the fields of electricity, telecommunications, information technology, and mechanical inventions.

He has been practicing in the field of Patent Law since 2009 and became a registered patent agent in Canada and in the United States as of 2014.

Tom Zhang’s clients are involved in various technical fields, including:

– Telecommunications
– Image processing and pattern recognition
– Software inventions, including mobile, internet and cloud-based solutions
– Optics
– Electronic circuits and chips
– Data management – Mechanical apparatuses
– Industrial processes

He completed his studies at McGill University, where he obtained a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering in 2006 and a Bachelor in Common Law and Civil Law (LL.B./B.C.L.) in 2010.

Before joining ROBIC, Tom Zhang worked both in private practice with a Canadian intellectual property firm, as well as an in-house counsel and patent agent for a Canadian company offering solutions for the security industry.

Liliana Korosi specializes in transactional, commercial and corporate law. Her practice focuses on the negotiation and drafting of agreements and commercial contracts in relation to the purchase and sale of businesses. It also includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, secured and private equity financings.

Before becoming a member of the Quebec bar, Liliana sat as a judge in Romania for almost 10 years, including four years as a judge at the Court of Appeal of Bucharest. While on the bench, Liliana was a prolific lecturer on matters of intellectual property, civil and labour law.

Prior to joining the ROBIC team, Liliana acquired valuable experience at prominent Canadian intellectual property and business law firms.

She was called to the Québec Bar in 2012.
