Karina Laflamme specializes in patentability opinions, patent drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the life sciences field including biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, cellular biology, tissue engineering and gene therapy.

Karina Laflamme’s clients include many important Canadian and international companies, both small and large, and cover various fields, such as:

Karina Laflamme was awarded a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and a Masters of Science in Pharmacology from Université de Sherbrooke and a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Université Laval.

Her doctorate research focused on the development and the characterization of a tissue engineered human blood vessel. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Washington D.C. where she developed a novel gene promotor that increases transgene expression for improved human gene therapy.

Karina Laflamme is a member of the Ordre des chimistes du Québec, a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and she also sits on the Life Sciences committee at ROBIC.
